The Therapeutic Power of Ceramics

Since the beginning of the war, I have chosen to open the doors of my studio to young people who have experienced extreme violence, as well as to refugees deeply affected by trauma.

Through ceramics, I wanted to offer a space of calm, creativity and reconstruction. A safe place where each person can deposit a part of their story, at their own pace.
Working with clay allows something essential to reappear: a sense of safety. Giving shape to the earth becomes a way of gently giving form to what has been broken. Very quickly, these workshops became suspended moments, where words could circulate freely, and where silence itself brought comfort and relief.

This work has deeply touched me. I have witnessed extraordinary courage and a powerful ability to transform pain into gesture, into matter, and finally into an object. Ceramics gradually became more than an artistic practice. It became a way to heal and a way to repair.

What Ceramics Can Offer
Ceramic creation provides a unique space for inner reconstruction.
Clay is a stable and grounding material that can be touched, shaped and transformed slowly. In a reality marked by chaos and loss, working with clay brings calm, helps reduce anxiety, and releases accumulated tension.

Ceramics invite reconnection to the body, to sensations, and to one’s own rhythm. There is no urgency and no expectation of performance. Only presence.

For people who have lived through trauma, words are sometimes inaccessible or too painful. Clay becomes another language. It allows emotions, memories and fragilities to emerge without having to be spoken. Creation becomes a symbolic support, capable of carrying a story, a memory or a transformation.

Completing a piece brings a feeling of continuity and achievement. It helps restore self confidence and the ability to move forward.

A Collective and Supportive Space
Ceramics are also a shared experience. Working in a group creates a caring environment where people feel less alone. This collective dimension helps break isolation, encourages connection, and allows everyone to feel welcomed, understood and supported.

An Invitation to Create
Ceramics are not only an art form. They are a profound therapeutic tool that brings stability, meaning and transformation, both through the material and within oneself.

Whether you are seeking calm, creative expression, emotional grounding or simply a moment to reconnect with yourself, my workshops are open to you. Each session is designed as a safe and welcoming space, accessible to everyone, with no prior experience required.

If you would like to take part in a ceramic workshop or learn more about the process, I invite you to get in touch and reserve a session. Creating with clay can be a first step toward restoring balance, presence and inner strength.
